John Carmack has officially announced his resignation from Meta today, after over a decade in with Oculus, now Meta.
Carmack has been with Oculus since before the acquisition by then Facebook in 2014, and has been instrumental both in the early days of the technology, and as an advising CTO and code contributor in recent years.

John Carmack is a legendary developer behind revolutionary FPS games and graphics engines in the early days of PC gaming, including the Doom and Quake franchises.
